Support changemakers in Nilagiri district
Nilgiri district is known for the Ooty hill station and vast tea estates. The fall of tea industry in this area due to import of cheaper tea, has thrown thousands of local villagers out of livelihoods. The district has 35 villages, with a minimum of 20 hamlets in each.

EGC is now working with the Nilgiri DRDA on generating employment for women SHGs through ZWM, total sanitation, afforestation, cattle conservation, vermicomposting and biogas generation. 35 able women change makers have been identified, one in each village, to carry out all these activities by training and involving thousands of women. They have received training, visited successful projects in Vellore and are ready to begin their work covering the entire district.

You can support them at Rs.2,500 per month each.
